This weekend we went to my mom's house up in Wisconsin and I spread Tubby's ashes out in the woods and buried the plastic "urn" his ashes had been in. Unfortunately spring is still not fully sprung up there and there weren't any pretty flowers anywhere, so I choose a nice sunny spot in the same location where other family pets have been buried over the years. My mom had some Edelweiss flowers that she had planted years ago that finally came up, so we picked one of those and put it on top of where we buried the box. It was just a little breezy, so I just opened the plastic bag and let the wind take the ashes. Goofy was right there checking everything out, so I know he was saying to Tubby "Hi buddy, good to see you. Come on, I'll show you all the good spots in the woods to check out." So here are the pics. The first one is the general area. I pointed to the little flower since it gets lost in all the dappled sunshine and dried up leaves.

And here's Goofy checking it all out. Again I pointed to the flower, and those are my mom's legs.

Terry was also there, and my dad, who was a devout cat hater for the longest time. I like to think that bringing Tubby into the house and forcing my dad to live with a cat for a few years was where he started doing his turn around. Even though I wouldn't exactly call him a cat "lover" now, he is very protective of Goofy and the Cranker and is quite upset over the idiotic Wisconsin bill to allow hunters to shoot stray cats. So like I say, not a cat lover, but certainly more of a softy for them than he used to be.

Anyway, after "the service" we all took a walk in the woods so Goofy could show Tubby the highlights. Here's a pic of Goofy...well.....being goofy!

It was a beautiful day and I know Tubby is now frolicking in the woods and keeping watch over Goofy to keep him safe.

Enjoy Big Boy.
