    Kitty remembrances

I just wondered...what others do to remember their kitties gone to the Bridge? As some of you know (the puzzlers), my husband and I were painting today. In preparation a couple of weeks ago, we were filling holes and generally prepping walls. On one wall in the family room there are about four very deep scratches. Coop (my husband) asked, "are we filling the Jamara scratches?" Concensus was...no. Jamara, our sweet kitty, passed away not long after we got this house, in 2002. She was 18. Above our front door, there are shadow kitties; slim black kitty figures that sit at the corners, one of them is for Jamara. Other than that we have the scratches.

How do you all remember your kitties?

Puddy's pic is on my cell phone and Peeka has a marker on her grave in my back yard that I visit frequently.

I presently am not a Mom to any kitties other than my resident stray - just Grammy to my son's 2 here in residence.
However, from my kitties of the past, I have the ashes of my 3 Meezers, O.C. the orangie, and tuxie Mortimer, along with the ashes of my 3 Lhasas and my terrier. When I leave this earth, I will be cremated and the ashes of all (should there be more) my RB kids will be mixed with mine and we will be scattered in the ocean, so we can travel the world via the ocean currents.

When Ralph and Spunky were alive, we had to put child-proof locks on our 'fridge and the freezer on top of it. After, they both were gone, I just could not bring myself to remove the locks. The freezer one fell off, and when we got a new ' fridge, no more locks....One the anniversary that the cat left for the Bridge, I put out a candle in the evening, and depending how windy, the candle may burn for over 24 hours. I also post on the site RainbowsBridge.com(I think). They have a Monday evening candlelighting ceremony every week. It really helps me to feel a little better about their passing....I miss all the Clan Cats that are waiting at the Bridge for that One Fine Day, as catmandu says.....

Oh my gosh.. You are doing exactly the same thing I am doing! I have the ashes of my beloved kitties who have crossed the Bridge, and I will have cremated and keep the ashes from my others who predecease me. When I cross the Bridge, I'm to be cremated also, and then all our ashes will be mixed and scattered together. I haven't decided yet on just where we should be scattered, but I like your idea of the ocean so that we can all travel the world together (and check out all those great restaurants with all the other Angels!).
I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
    Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.

I haven't lost any babies in my adult life. But there is a rug in the bedroom that is Taz's scratching rug. I'm pretty sure that will stay right where it is even when he is gone. All my babies will also be cremated. I'm not sure what will become of me (I haven't thought that far ahead yet), but either way they will be with me.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

I'm hoping my RB kitties and I can be scattered together somewhere in Colorado. It's where most of them were born and where I felt most at home.

We have pictures of Tigger on our phones and we have blown one up and put it on a picture frame and will have some wood signs embalmed to have his name and the year of his birth and death. I plan to get a new collar and tag (we buried his own collar and tag with him.) that will have his name and the dates of his birth and death. So that is our family's plan to remember our Tigger.

And when Alison goes, I will have her cremated. Then when I die I want to old her container of her ashes with me when they bury me. (If that is legal.)
In loving memory of Tigger 2003-2009. In loving memory of Ashes 2001-2013.

I know I have already posted, but I forgot something. I have sent donations to Dogs for the Deaf in Oregon. They have a Field of Memories. A daffodil bulb will be planted. OR for some more money, a " stone " with the pet's name will be placed by the daffodil. All our cats(except Samson, Delilah, and Timothy)and Barry and I, have daffs and stones. I really LOVE this idea, and they do such great work, saving dogs at shelters, and training them to be " hearing dogs " or companions for people.....

I have a Boodabox also for the past 20 years and use Fresh Step cat litter.

I only have one cat but I know with more than one cat you need to change the litter more often.

    Enjoy your new kids
