We've just got back from the vets. "Caramel" has severe inflamation in the roof on his mouth and under his tongue. They've taken a bloodsample to test for viral infections but at the moment it's not looking good.

Even if he's free of disease he'll need to have all his teeth pulled and biopsies taken to check for cancer. Most likely followed by a lifetime of medication and discomfort.
