No, you are right to put it in The Dog House, as it is very upsetting. How completely awful, I hope the people are somehow found and justice is done. Do the people who sell such traps keep any records? Maybe it could be traced that way, as don;t you need a license to be a trapper?

To my knowlege you dont need a lisence to buy traps, but you need a lisence to trap. Trapping here is no different then fishing, you need a lisence to do it but not one to own the equiptment.

The difference is fishing is legal inside the city limits, trapping isnt.

The house where the bait and trap was set shouldnt be under despute and the homeowners hopefully will be held accountable.

I have no problem in general with trapping but this really pisses me off.

To set a trap that close to anyone's home should just be criminal - it seems just as likely a child might find it ... and have an arm or leg severed or crushed. If it isn't technically criminal, it should be! To see a beloved pet die in agony like that is just terrible.

There are very few areas where trapping is legal in Anchorage, and where Grizzly was killed isnt one of them for the reasons you posted.

OMG... that poor dog. I hope that something will be done about the person who set that trap. That's just horrific to imagine happening to any animal.
