    Tubby watches over Goofy

This weekend we went to my mom's house up in Wisconsin and I spread Tubby's ashes out in the woods and buried the plastic "urn" his ashes had been in. Unfortunately spring is still not fully sprung up there and there weren't any pretty flowers anywhere, so I choose a nice sunny spot in the same location where other family pets have been buried over the years. My mom had some Edelweiss flowers that she had planted years ago that finally came up, so we picked one of those and put it on top of where we buried the box. It was just a little breezy, so I just opened the plastic bag and let the wind take the ashes. Goofy was right there checking everything out, so I know he was saying to Tubby "Hi buddy, good to see you. Come on, I'll show you all the good spots in the woods to check out." So here are the pics. The first one is the general area. I pointed to the little flower since it gets lost in all the dappled sunshine and dried up leaves.

And here's Goofy checking it all out. Again I pointed to the flower, and those are my mom's legs.

Terry was also there, and my dad, who was a devout cat hater for the longest time. I like to think that bringing Tubby into the house and forcing my dad to live with a cat for a few years was where he started doing his turn around. Even though I wouldn't exactly call him a cat "lover" now, he is very protective of Goofy and the Cranker and is quite upset over the idiotic Wisconsin bill to allow hunters to shoot stray cats. So like I say, not a cat lover, but certainly more of a softy for them than he used to be.

Anyway, after "the service" we all took a walk in the woods so Goofy could show Tubby the highlights. Here's a pic of Goofy...well.....being goofy!

It was a beautiful day and I know Tubby is now frolicking in the woods and keeping watch over Goofy to keep him safe.

    Enjoy Big Boy.

Awwww! I got tears in my eyes. Tubby is roaming around those woods, free and healthy now. Goofy showed him all the neat spots and best places to lay down to nap in the sun, best place to play and enjoy himself. I know that chapter is closed but you will never stop missing him.. He is as free as the wind now. Go in Peace Tubby, we will miss you...

That brought tears to my eyes.I miss seeing Tubby in your house pictures.I'm sure this is the right spot for him. It's beautiful in these pictures.
That law about shooting cats."SICK HUH?" How can people do this to such a lovely animal?
Well,I'm glad Tubby is at rest now in this beautiful wooded area'His home now'.
And I know that your dad is most likely a catlover by now,but won't admit it. Goofy looks like a beautiful and nice cat.And looks very loved.

Thank You Kim for this wonderful siggy

Tubby will love that spot! I know how much Filou and Tigris would love to roam in the woods and to sniff everything out.

And it's so good he has Goofy around. I am sure Goofy can see him The thing he is making in the goofy picture shows he can smell something

What a wonderful place you have chosen for dear Tubby, just the place he'd love to run around. Soon, there'll be pretty flowers all around - and he will even have goofy company now and again.

    Rest in peace, Tubby!

    *Hugs*

Thanks so much everyone. Next time we're up there I will take better pics and hopefully things will be a little more green and growing than they were this time.

The tree that Goofy is under is a particular favorite for him. It must be hollow inside because he kept trying to climb up from the inside. My dad says there are probably some critters that live in there and he can smell them. I'm sure Tubby was all over that tree wondering what critters were in there.

Oh, and Phred, yes, Tubby will definitely have his own little area in the motorhome. I've got the wonderful ceramic Tubby that Catsnclay made for me that will accompany us in the motorhome, although I'll definitely have to get some sticky stuff on his bottom so he doesn't tip over and break!

Debbie, I was out all day yesterday and didn't get a chance to check on PT until after 11pm. When I read this, my LES started up right away and I just couldn't respond.

What an emotional day it must have been for you. RIP dear Tubby. Here we go again....I'll have to come back later.....
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!
