Well, since my mom's birthday is this weekend, and we're going to be gone, I took this as a great time to wish her the best!!
First of all, this Saturday, my mom (Mary) is turning 40, so this is a big birthday!!Last Saturday, my dad, friend and I came together and planned a HUGE surprise 40th b-day for her, inviting a lot of people, and 140 people ended up coming. We held it at this meeting room place so it was not in our home...but gosh, I think it had to be the best party ever!!!
My mom was kind of ticked when she discovered my dad had thrown her a 40th b-day party (and she had NO idea until she walked in the door of this place and everyone that had come for the party yelled SURPRISE!! (
) and happy birthday later) but she got over it pretty fast and was SO happy to see so many wonderful friends!! (and my grandparents from KS came too) I will never forget the look on her shocked face when she walked in that door though...man, she abour fainted, but then started crying happily!! Still, she was in a daze for two days!!

And how we pulled it off without her knowing anything...well, that's another long story in itself!!!
But anyways, that was such a wonderful night that I'll never forget, and just shows what a special mom our family has!!
So now I just want to wish my mom the BEST birthday ever (it's already been awesome!!) and to thank her for all she's done in the last 40 golden years...I mean, I would not be alive if it wasn't for her!! So instead of looking at this birthday as "over the hill" and "getting old" I'm going to look at it as a great opportunity to thank God for my mom and everything she has achieved! After all, YOU ARE FORTY YEARS YOUNG MOM!!!LOVE YA LOTS!!!
With Love,
-Katie-
