    What are your vet's hours?

I've been going to the same vet clinic for 12 years and I love the head vet but lately they've been changing staff and now slowly they've been shortening the hours they see patients. I called to make Scout an appointment for her annual exam and shots and couldn't get an appointment for this week. That is crazy! They have 4 vets on rotation. I finally asked what hours do they see patients and was told from 8 am to 10:30 am and then from 4 pm to 5:30 pm. They are closed for lunch from 11:30 to 1:00 and do surgeries from 1-3:30.

No wonder I can't get an appointment when they only spend 4 hours a day seeing patients.

I would switch but they are only 2-3 miles from the house and Ripley can't ride in the car very far without getting sick.
    GRRRR!

Mine is open from 7 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and they're also on call, of course. They are a great place to go. They do all their own bloodwork there, too.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

7:30am to 6pm Monday to Friday. There's only two vets in the practice. They take turns working the early shift. One sees patients, one does surgeries & other duties. They are usually both available from 1-4 or so. I like them both so I don't really care which one we see.

No weekend hours, but one of them is always on call. They alternate weekends and will come in if they get a call.

If I really have to, like today, I can usually convince them to let me drop a critter off in the morning and they see them when they have a spare minute. Having 30 critters gets me great service!

For things like bloodwork, I don't need an appointment. One of the techs just comes out and does the blood draw. The vet calls me whenever the results are ready. They are amazing at returning calls.

I think the hours are 8 to 6 Monday through Thursday and 8 to 2 on Friday. There is only one vet and 3 or 4 techs. I think she schedules surgeries around appointments, usually around 1 PM. I rarely have trouble getting in quickly.

She's really good to the animals and does super surgery. Scruffy had a stitch on his eyelid that was nearly invisible.

It's great to have a good vet. I hope she never quits.

They open Monday through Saturday @ 7:30 am and close anywhere between 6:00 & 7:30. However, the early hours are for drop of for cleanings, day visits etc. The actual vets don't start until 9:00 or so and stop about 6:00. We are usually lucky and if we plan ahead for exams and shots can get a Saturday appointment, but I usually have to plan weeks in advance. Sunday is emergency only. However, I don't think I have been to one appointment when they have been on time. Anywhere from 15 - 30 minute wait, but it is close to home and most of the vets are very nice except for one whose "bedside" manner leaves a bit to be desired, so I request that we see anyone but him.

Thanks so much kittycats_delight for the beautiful siggy and avatar of my kids!

Our old vet (that we still use for emergencies) is open 9-12 and 1:30-6 M-F; 9-12 Saturday.

Our new vet is open 8-5 M, W, Th and Fri., 8-6 Tuesday and 8-12 Saturday. They did just hire a second vet to stay open til 7 at least a few nights (I'm very excited about that!)

We have an afterhours clinic not too far from us, that we have used a few times. I'm not thrilled with them, but at 2am, it's a vet to get you through the night.

My vet (where I work!) is open from 7am to 9pm weekdays and from 9am to 1pm Saturday. We usually end up staying later almost every day because there are often emergencies and critical cases. We also do drop-off appointments frequently.

Our vet is open M-F, 8:30-5:30 and Saturday, 9-12. They also seem to be pretty good about coming in for emergencies, although we haven't had to take them up on that. What I really like is that they do not require an appointment unless it is for a surgery. (Aren't small towns wonderful? )

The office for our main vet is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with vet appointments from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. They'll take walk-ins after that but only if it's an emergency. Saturday hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

They will work you in if need be, so I've never had a problem with them. And they do their own emergency clinic on nights and weekends. There are 4 vets who rotate.

The vet we use for Max has very limited hours and he's about 35 miles from home. But since he's been helping Max, we keep going to see him.

My old vet was only open from 8-6pm Mon., Tues., and Fri. and the vet didn't come in until 9am. On Wed. it was open from 8-8pm which was nice. On Thurs. it was open from 8-4pm with no vet. On Sat. it was open from 8-2pm but the vet would usually leave by 12pm and they're closed on Sundays.

My new vet's office has 3 vets working M-F and 1-2 vets working on Sat. and Sun. The hours are:
M-F 7-7pm but the vets don't usually come in until 8am
    Sat. 8-5pm
Sun. 8-4pm with a vaccination clinic every Sunday from 12-2pm

They used to have extended hours on Thursdays and hope to again if they can find a vet willing to work late.
