4 weeks old! That is such a little baby. Is she okay away from mom? I thought they were supposed to stay with mom until 8 weeks, but I could be wrong.

4 weeks?!?!!?Isn't that way too young? Unless you're handfeeding your bird.......it seems too young. Are you sure she's 4 weeks?
I can't wait to see pics!
Hmm I thought they were fully feathered and able to eat regular seed at about 6 weeks, but maybe I'm remembering wrong or maybe that is just parakeets. Maybe the people you got the chick from told you the wrong age?
Congratulations though, have you thought of a name yet? Hope to see pictures soon, I love pied tiels![]()

I hope that Baby isn't too young to be away from her mom.
Please, research a little bit more about the right age to take a cockatiel away from their mommy! We don't want anything bad to happen to Baby!![]()
I was thinking the samething when I seen that you edited your thread and said the bird is 4 weeks old. That just seems to be too young be away from its mother.![]()

yep, hand feeding, she's either 4 weeks, or 6 weeks, or in between...
So is that her in your signature? Did you post other pics somewhere and I missed it?

Baby is so cute! She might be a little young, but if she's eating then she should be ok. Just watch and make sure she is eating. If not there is hand raising bird fomula you can buy. It's possible she is older. Evie wasn't able to come home for about two months. I think she was over 8 weeks old when she came home. She's a great eater and she is still a little peanut. They are all different.
