    Is it normal for cats?

    Hello, My name is Izzy.
As you will find, I am very mature and intellegent for my age.
I recently came across these forums when I saw the link in a book I had checked out about cats.
We (my family and I) have adopted a pet cat from the local pet store and we instantly fell in love with her. She is a 9 week old Purebred Russian Blue kitten named Sofia.
She is very smart and adorable, and is doing well.
But lately she has begun to constantly lick her private area, the purpose seems to be for pleasure. She enjoys it a lot and begins to purr loudly
I did not know that cat's do this sort of thing and am wondering if I should be concerned about things such as worms, fleas, or mites.

Well, hopefully it's just curiousity that began this behavior. lol
