    Hazel Update

Dr. just called and said Hazel's pancreas levels were still off a bit, thyroid was normal, liver was normal, and kidney was elevated just barely. He said she was showing dehydration so will take her in there for subfluids and another antibiotic shot. He also wants to keep her on a special diet for now. Keep fingers & toes crossed XXXX this all corrects itself.

How IS she? It is good to know most of the levels are normal, but has she stopped vomitting?

Sadly no! We had her back to the vet yesterday. They gave her another antibiotic shot and more fluids. We have to watch her through the weekend and if it has continued, then they will pursue further. First with Xrays, and then if necessary they will put her under and do the scope. Of course we'll do this in order to get to the problem!

I still think this is good news: there is hope that she'll go back to normal

    Hazel, hang on!

One good thing is the vet said she isn't losing weight, which could be a good sign. Even with all the vomiting she gained a couple ounces. We put her on prescription food, and I've been cooking rice and mixing boiled chicken in it. Plus I've been giving her small amounts several times a day instead of a huge feeding. I sure hope this all works out.

Oh Roscoe, I would be so honored to accompany you to the partee. Seafood happens to be my favorite!
