Unhappy Poem: Memorial -- Cat and God dialogue

And God asked the feline spirit
Are you ready to come home?
Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul
And, as a cat, you know I am most able
    To decide anything for myself.

Are you coming then? asked God.
    Soon, replied the whiskered angel
    But I must come slowly
For my human friends are troubled
For you see, they need me, quite certainly.

But don't they understand? asked God
    That you'll never leave them?
That your souls are intertwined. For all eternity?
That nothing is created or destroyed?
It just is....forever and ever and ever.

    Eventually they will understand,
    Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am....forever and ever and ever.

    A friend shared this with me and it brought me much bittersweet memories. I thought it might be helpful to those among us who mourn, too. {{{hugs}}}

    Very sweet. Thanks for sharing.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

That was just beautiful. Thank you for bringing back some wonderful memories for me.

My Tony is with me everyday...in his sister Tigger. She does some of the exact same things that only Tony did when he was with me....so I know that he passed these special things to Tigger so that he would always be with me.

    Lovely Poem

Truly beautiful, made me weep. I miss my kitty so much, I think I will copy the poem and read it when I am missing my little skootch and I will be waiting patiently for little kitty whispers in my ear.

When I read your post about Skootch, I thought about this poem. I'm glad it's bringing you some comfort.

    WHEW!!

This is so cool. That must explain why I don't feel Grasshopper missing - she's still around in so many ways. Of course, here is where Dadcat would mention the fur - - - .
