    Chicagoland Pet Show

Yesterday, Debbie (and Terry and his friend Joe) attended the Chicagoland Pet Show. Unfortunately, we never hooked up with Efrat... Nonetheless we had a great time. Below are some photos. I've also made an album here....Pet Show Album

We watched some of the cat judging...saw the BIGGEST Norwegian Forest Cats, tiny Russian Blues, lots and lots of birds, and it seemed like every breed of dog. We watched a demonstration of police dogs. (Did you know they come from Europe and are taught all commands in German? They neuter the females but not the males. And don't bother hiding your weed in coffee. They'll still find it.)

This cat was the size of a small todder!

I wish I could have been there -looks like lots of fun

We have a police soap here in which the hero is a GSD. He is really famous and he can do so many funny things. There was an old lady and her walking stick fell down and he picked it up and gave it to her. And he always steals the sandwiches of one of the police guys. It's a running gag. As soon as this guy unwraps his sandwich you are waiting what trick the dog will do this time

Sara and Debbie, I'm glad you had fun! So Efrat didn't show up? It's at times like this you need the mobile!

The doggies seem quite cool about it all, except the "spring flower" ones - they just want to get out of there!! Do you really think the "big" kitty is that big!! Fister is at least as big.

Sara, my cousin worked for the customs in Denmark - with a sniffing dog. He once let my aunt hide some dope in her house - training - and of couse the dog found it. Careful who you invite to her house!!

I love Scottish folds . Shame that you didn't catch up with Efrat, but looks like a fun day anyway.

Wow. Great album. Sure looks like you had a great day.

What did Golilocks and Biker Dude think of the show?

Yeah, the girl said they have raised thousands of dollars already - definitely earning their keep. I think they're a group that trains dogs to be "helpers" - you know, for people in wheel chairs and stuff? I forgot what they specifically call dogs like that.

Sara, where did you see the flower doggies? I completely missed those! They are adorable!

The police demonstration was interesting, but he spent too much time on questions, we wanted to see them attack the guy again.

And yes, Randi, that cat was that big! There were two or three of them that looked real similar, so maybe this is a pic of the other one, but that one guy had to be at least 20 lbs. He was just beautiful!! Laid right down when the judge put him on the table.

There were so many beautiful cats and adorable doggies and who forgot her camera in the car? Duh! Efrat did show up, but we were never able to meet up. It does get really crowded, which is why we went later.

The little kitty that won the household cat show was so adorable and just loaded with personality. We got to see the final judging of that and next year I'm entering Tubby! (yeah right!)

I see Goldilocks also had her free sample of that holistic food there too. Did she like it? T & P wolfed their's down and were immediately begging for more.

For those who didn't make it, you missed another good show. We'll definitely be letting everyone know about the next one!
