Child as young as 4 years old are being kidnapped or sold by their parents for the sex trade.

Human beings do horrible things to each other all over the world even today. Slavery is far from over worldwide. Look at female genital mutilation in Africa, look at Foot Binding, which is still practiced in parts of Far East, some of terrible ways women are treated under religious law, the children in India who are sold into sweatshop labor, mass graves can be found from executions.....

...are we surprised there is a sex trade?
But the United States should sit still within it's borders and be sure not to police the world.......

Yes I know that, and yes I have heard of all these things, and YES it still UPSETS me!!! These are CHILDREN, so yes it upsets me. To think that a little 3 or 4 years old girl, so close to my son's age is being bruttally raped brings tears to me eyes! Of course it upsets me!

My Math teacher from highschool had her feet binded when she was a little girl.

Interesting. I wasn't aware that foot binding was practiced after the Communist Revolution in China, about 1911. It was strictly forbidden by the new government, and I have read that enforcement was strict, to say the least. Was your teacher a very elderly woman?

Was she able to walk on her own? The ideal size of a bound foot was about 3 inches, and all the toes were broken and bent backwards under the foot of the child, to acheive that size. Most women with bound feet could only walk for a few steps, with help. And that was part of the point - women that could not walk could never leave the house, thereby remaining helpless and docile.

Foot binding has got to be one of the most horrific things women ever went through.

I feel as you do Cass, its so horrific, I can hardly believe it, to imagine this really does happen is just so hard to read, we have a sick world for sure, if only we could end all the cruelty and hardship in the world, WHY WHY WHY ? do we have to have it at all?
There is so much sadness, poverty and cruelty in our world, it eats away at me, If only we could put a stop to it NOW!!!!!

P.S The men who pay to have sex with these children are just morons and they should be punished severly as should the ones who buy and sell them, may they all rot in HELL.!!!!!

I am aware of what foot binding is. We learned that in History, as does everyone I am sure. Perhaps her feet weren't binded, but I remember her saying she had her feet binded, or something done to her feet when she was young. No she was not an older women, she was very young, about 24 or so. It was long ago so I don't exactly remember her age, but she was young. Perhaps I am remembering wrong. Which could very well be lol, as most know I don't have a good memory.

I was under the impression that foot binding does till go on, but it's kept secret.

I believe this was more of a rhetorical question than a literal one.

This is terrible, as well as sickening, and brings tears to my eyes. How some people can be so evil and humiliating is beyond me. These people deserve to be punished. They NEED to be punished, and they SHOULD be punished for this terrible crime!
