    Rabie Shot Reaction

Poor Skinny is having a mild reaction. You can tell he doesn't feel well. He slept all early evening into morning. Called the vet's office today and they said to watch him and if he wasn't better by tomorrow to call. Poor thing hasn't eaten much but a few spoonfuls of yogart. I gave him some wet food a little while ago, which he throw up, which didn't surprise me because he hasn't eaten anything today. I was excited when he started eating. Called the emergency vet place for their input. They said it's up to us whether to bring him in or not, it's a 30 mile trip. Since Skinny is breathing ok and shows no other bad signs she said to keep an eye on him and call our regular vet in the a.m. I am a worried kitty mom.

Many of my cats get lethargic and stop eating after their shots. A day or a day and a half later they are usually back to normal. So just keep an eye on him and let him sleep.

Thanks for input. Butterscotch and Thumper were only out of sorts for a few hrs if that after any shots. Skinny has got to be different and put more gray hairs on mom. Some with human children would say the same thing about gray hairs.

Poor Skinny! I hope he has a good night, and sleep off that old shot! My Doxie, Gretta had a bad reaction to her first rabies shot... her ears turned blood red and she was itching like crazy... then on top of that she was ill too! Poor babies, wish they didn't have to go through these things!

Try not to worry, Mom... Skinny will be fine!

When I woke up few minutes ago (hubby gets up at this ungodly hr of the morning LOL), Skinny came down stairs to greet me with a head butt kisses. His eyes don't have the "droopy sick look" and he is moving around allot more than he has in past day and 1/2. He is on the mends from those nasty shots. Mom can stop worrying.

    Mom's worry!

I worry too, when my babies have to go in for shots and come home acting like they feel bad. Chester would sleep the rest of the day, one time he would lay down for a few minutes, get up and move, lay down again, move to another spot and he did this all day. I was worred to death and felt so bad that I had took him and had that done to him. I just wanted to cry!
