    My Heart Hurts

Do you all recall Snidley the feral I've been feeding out by the house? I saw him dead on the side of the busy road this morning on the way to work. I feel sick and heartbroken. I was just getting him to feed at the house and ready for trapping.
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers

I'm very sad to hear this. But Snidley wasn't hungry like he most likely was before you came around and knew that someone loved him.

    RIP

Thank you both. I just feel sick and can hardly work today. I get so attached to these guys, it's like they live with us. I feel so bad for him.

You do so much good, for so many. But I completely understand your heartache at losing one. I am sad for you, and sad for Snidley, but he had a full belly and was finding out about real love. Thank you for caring so much.

I'm so sorry. At least he knew you were there for him, he just wasn't quite ready to fully accept the help you were willing to offer.

Hugs to you. You hurt because you care, and that is a good thing, especially for all those you help.

RIP Snidley, play hard at the RB where there are no nasty cars to be afraid of.

That's a shame and I'm sure it is very disappointing for you. But you did what no one else was doing for him. He had a good friend in you.

    K&L,

I'm so sorry to hear about Snidley. Although feral cats fear humans, it is so easy to become attached to them. At least he went to the RB knowing he was loved and cared about.

    RIP precious boy!!
