Is your cat a lap cat?

Frisky is not the type of cat who just jumps on your lap or sleeps on your head. @ night, he sleeps at the foot of my bed and sometimes even in the kitchen. Thanks for sharing your answers!

It really depends on Shiloh's mood. She sometimes likes to get on my lap but it has to be her idea. If I try to put her on, she'll just jump down since she wasn't the one who thought of it She does ALWAYS have to be in the same room as me though.

Now my foster kitties are very much lap cats and sleep curled on my neck.

Marigold is a DEFINITE snuggler, though she does have her days when it is beneath her dignity to be even petted. When we are watching a movie or something, she will just crawl into my lap for the entire duration, kneading my arm and purring.

Blueberry is not a lap cat. He used to be, when he was a tiny kitten, he used to sleep on me all the time. I wish he was still like that. Now, he sometimes sleeps on my bed, and doesn't like to be held for more than half a minute.
*sigh* I wish I had a lap cat

Noah: Not a lap cat, but sleeps on my head and loves me at night.

Noel: lap cat when SHE wants to be

Basil: His first, middle and last names are all LAP (and legs, and arms, and head, and...)

Olivia: Lap cat when SHE wants to be, although, like Noah, she sleeps in bed with us, ON our legs

    Micah: TOTALLY

Hermoine: Not yet, but she sure is a snuggler

Gosh, I have 3 totally different cats!! Fluffy is the one that HAS to sleep between Tim & I, if he can't get between us in the night, he will sit on the headboard and meow until one of us moves! Then he has to be held...

Lucky is usually very independent, but lately because of his illness he has become a "momma's boy" big time. I'm not a very big person (4' 5") so sitting in my lap is not an option, but 1/4 of Lucky is usually in my lap! Then he sleeps either down by my feet or under my other arm....depending on his mood.

Yoshi is the baby and loves to cuddle. He is almost 3 and he still likes to be held like a baby. I started that when he was tiny and every night while watching TV he will climb into my arms to be held. It can be for hours on end, too! At night he sleeps right on my pillow, holding my face.
    Bunny & Kitties:

    Taz - F (7); Majerle - M (4) & Loki - M (8 months)
    (pronounced: Marley).

Andy too! I swear there is an affectionate gene that runs in white cats!

Trevor is on his own terms, but Andy loves to sit in my lap, get scritches and then he drools!

This is a photo taken a couple of days ago, already posted to the board ....

In fact, she is sitting on my lap right now!

I voted "sometimes". Of our cats, 3 are lap cats, but Jackson is not a lap cat. He doesn't like to be held either.
    Scott is owned by 5 cats: Jackson, Fluffy, Twidgit, Ashton, Lexi;
and 3 dogs: Eli, Sassee, Ginger

Neither Ash or Lexie are lap cats, but on rare occasions will jump up on the couch and plonk themselves down, funny thing since lexie had to wear the cone she became an instant lap cat, but only when it was on.

Tibby is very much a lap, head, shoulder, stomach.. where ever there is room for her cat. Corkscrew is the total opposite. Maybe once in a blue moon will he actually want attention from me, but that usually just means that he wants some canned food.

Thanks for the great signature Kay!

Maya is defenitely NOT a lap cat. Sche loves to be petted, but don't take her on your lap; she will run away immediately!

Inka is a lap cat when she decides to be one In the morning she loves to lay with me in bed for a while, and during the day, she often hops on my legs or lap. But is she who decides if she stays or not!!
