Layla or Indy - that is the question ?

Sorry to bother you all

Mum, Dad and I can't agree on a name for our new dog, only born last week so several weeks before we bring her home.

Black labrador - ( bitch )

Very important as sadly Ruby our last lab passed away recentley.

Opinions on the names Indy or Layla or another!

I like both the names you picked...Indy stands out to me more, but Layla seems more feminine

For me I found the name Indy easier to say.

I am for sorry about Ruby, my Aunts lab that passed
away a few years ago was named Ruby too.

India, with Indy for short, seems logical for India Ink - very black pup, nice black ink!

Layla might be confusing if you're telling her to lay down!

Indy could be short for Indira, too, a very famous dark-eyed lady (Indira Ghandi), there's a bio of her here!

But you'll know better when you get to play with her!

Onyx is a black semiprecious stone ... Obsidian is just too much of a mouthful for a pup.

Of course, you could see her and decide she's a Lilac or a Suzie or a Cecelia!
