    furniture and carpet licking

Before our dogs moved in, I used to laugh at Cody, my mother in law's pom, because he licks her furniture all the time. It's a leather sofa, and whenever he is lying on it, he starts to lick it for a while.
Fast forward to our life now with Kito--he licks the floor all the time!! He plops himself down on the carpet, and licks away for a while--he has certain spots, and none of them are near the dining room table!! One spot is right near my dresser in the bedroom, he's almost in the corner licking away at the floor!! I think it's weird--does anyone else's dog lick the carpet or the furniture??

Our girls do it a lot. They like blankets too, I don't know why dogs do this, but our oldest 2 do it all the time, you're not alone!

    I noticed that too.
Sheba likes to nibble on my blankets and
if I am sitting down next to her, she will start
licking my pants like she is groooming me.
Sometimes Rocky licks the tile floor.
(now only if I can teach him to lick all the tile
instead of one spot, I would not have to mop)

Perry never licks anything, but Daisy is the licker in our family, the carpet, the bed, the couch, my hands (must be from dinner, lol) it seems she is always doing it, likes to lick her butt too. lol

Nebo licks everything too! I think he prefers the smooth surfaces........like the bathtub, toilet, oven, dishwasher... If the dishwasher is ever left open he helps himself to a "cleaning job." He's always getting in weird positions and shoving his nose under there and snorting/licking...must be something interesting under our counter tops.

He does occasionally lick the carpet too. And he has a thing for feet...he gives great licking foot massages...lol
