    Fluff is a moggy marvel!!

I thought you may this story from Your Cat magazine interesting. Sorry about picture quality, I do not have a scanner so they are photos of photos!
The text also is copytyped excepts so although I have checked there may still be more than a few typos in there!
At 31 years old, Fluff is likely to be Britain's (if not the worlds!) oldest cat!

If you were to age Fluff in human years (it is estimated that one cat year is equal to seven of a human’s) it would make her at least 200 years old – the feline equivalent of Gandalf, the wise but ancient `Lord of the rings` character! Vet Emma Milne presented a Lifetime Achievement Award to proud owners Marjorie and Ken Wren at a celebration ceremony recently.
Runners-up Worcester and Pretty are in their mid-20s and still going strong, while Lucky is catching up at 19.
How they have made it to these great ages we’ll probably never know exactly, since it is down to good genes – and a bit of luck perhaps. Two things these cats certainly have in common are doting owners and skilful and supportive vets.
    Fantastic Fluff
Fluff is half-Persian. The Wren’s neighbours bought her as a kitten. When their first baby was born, she became a regular visitor to the Wrens home in Gosport, Hampshire. Gradually, she began to spend more time in their large garden and then when their neighbours had a second child in 1986, Fluff made her decision to move in permanently. The Wrens discussed Fluff’s future with their neighbours and Fluff changed her surname on the vet’s records.
All her life (apart from the first two years) her health has been overseen by the vets at the Alver veterinary Group in the town. Health problems have been few and far between, and Marjorie always takes Fluff for her annual vaccinations. In recent years she has had benign cysts removed and two loose teeth were very skilfully taken out without the need for anaesthetic.
    Taking it easy
Fluff takes life easy, just as she has always done. She can keep her younger housemates in order, with just a meaningful look, and Marjorie says Fluff could still muster the energy to scale the fence should a fierce dog pas by the garden.
A typical day for Fluff may be summed up as `quiet`. She has a sedate routine, which involves eating just what she likes when she likes, having a potter in the garden, then returning to her favourite chair. She lets very little bother her, but woe betide any `whippersnapper` of a younger cat who dares to hop up into her sleeping spot!
Don`t be fooled into thinking these older pets have gone senile: senior cats believe they deserve certain standards – and respect too. Frail though she might be, Fluff knows her own mind and keeps her owners in line.

I will try and take pictures and/or tell you about the other `oldsters` in another thread.

That would be my fondest wish come true, if my kitty could live that long (as long as he was happy and healthy, of course). I love that second picture - "cantankerous" is the word that comes to mind..........
The legend says that Mohammed adored cats. When one of them was sleeping on his sleeve and he had to go out, Mohammed supposedly cut off the sleeve so as not to disturb his pet.

    I liked this statement,

"Don`t be fooled into thinking these older pets have gone senile: senior cats believe they deserve certain standards – and respect too. Frail though she might be, Fluff knows her own mind and keeps her owners in line. "
