    Co-worker's cat passed unexpectedly

I don't know the whole story, but I know a good chunk of it.

She was 2yrs old & stopped eating. They brought her to the vet (she looked/acted mostly normal) around 8pm last night & went out for dinner as all they thought she needed was some fluids over night as she didn't seem ill. The vet called them with the test results and said it was serious but she had to call them back & hung up.

What happened is that the cat had a heart attack during that phone call. They were able to keep her alive & called my co-worker back. my co-worker had her put down over the phone to end the suffering as the cat wasn't going to make it. They didn't get to say goodbye

They had the cat autopsied for closure. Everything pointed to FIP
My co-worker should have the final results on Tue for more closure. His girlfriend is extremely upset & is at home. He's also very upset here at work.

They are thinking of having her cremated and putting her in an urn.

I'm hoping PTers can help let them know they are good cat owners & they did everything they could for her.

I will show him this page.

Rest in peace little one. You were loved and your parents cared for you as best they possibly could. Watch over them from your spot at the Rainbow Bridge, and send them purrs in their dreams to let them know you are okay.

Oh my, this is just so sad. I am in tears. I am so sorry this happened.
There was no way for them to know. They did everything they possibly could for her. It will be difficult for a while because it was such a shock. But I hope they eventually understand they did everything right.

RIP little kitty. There must be a special task for you at the bridge.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!
