Nelson is a very sweet, elderly Golden Retriever who lives in my area. I don't know his owners' names, but I see them out and about with Nelson and his husky buddy, Morgan all the time. Morgan is the spitting image of my Franklin. I've actually had a few small panic attacks when I run into Morgan, thinking for a split second that Franklin had escaped!
This morning several vehicles were pulled over on my road. Someone had hit Nelson. I see him often with a teenage girl. He probably followed her to the school bus stop this morning. He often does. Nelson was concious, but he didn't look good. Someone else had already volunteered to take him to the vet and contact his owners so I didn't stay for long.
Nelson is a doll, everything a good Golden should be. He's not one of mine, but I sure am worried about him. I hope he's out and about with his family again soon.
