Chinchilla Persians Rescue ~ ALL FUNDS RAISED!

iMOM has received an urgent request to help some Chinchilla Persians with medical issues. These gorgeous kitties were rescued from a back yard breeder.

From their Meowmy ~ These magnificent animals are products of a breeder's greed. They are wonderfully gentle and affectionate, and only need this medical alteration for the first chance in their special little lives to find their perfect forever and safe homes. There were a total of six of the Chinchilla Persians in this group. Three of which were whole and are being spayed/neutered this week and next. Please help Cats Are Totally Special give this kitten a second chance in life.

One of the kitties was born without a foot on one leg. He needs his leg amputated to correct his balance.

If you can find some spare change, please donate to iMOM for their care.
This link: http://www.imom.invisionzone.com/com...showtopic=3304 will take you to their thread. I believe you have to join to view it. But, I'll copy some of the info for those who don't want to join.

You can also visit http://west.petfinder.com/shelters/c...lyspecial.html to visit the rescue's website.

    From the iMOM thread

Diagnosis: Born without a foot on one leg. Needs amputation of leg to correct balance.
Amount of estimate: $657. IMOM has pledged $200 from emergency funds. We need to raise $457
Spayed or neutered: No - the cost is included in the estimate
    Case worker: Tracy

Six Chinchilla Persian kittens were recently pulled from a shelter and taken in by CATS (Cats Are Totally Special) Rescue. This kitten for whom we are fundraising was the product of an unscrupulous breeder and was born without a paw on one of her legs. She needs the leg amputated in order to correct her balance.

Please read her story and view her picture on her page: http://www.imom.org/pin/general/chin...catsrescue.htm

Donations can be made at http://www.imom.org/donation/
Please designate all donations for: Chinchilla CATS Rescue
No amount is too small. Please consider a token donation to our Operating Fund to help offset website and administrative expenses.

CATS Rescue has been great to work with and has been very quick to get us everything we need to process the application. They are attempting to raise funds on their own. However, they are also trying to find the funds to get two other Chinchillas from this litter treated for health problems as well. In addition, they recently rescued 70 cats from a horrible situation, and their resources have dwindled to nothing. CATS rescue's website is catsaretotallyspecial.petfinder.com Please consider donating towards this sweet Chinchilla kitty's amputation.

    Thanks, angels!

Aww what a total sweetheart. I am just sickened by the greed and disregard of some people.

Angels can you please consider taking some of the burden off CATS rescue ? They have two other kitties to help and recently took in a LOT of kitties. Surely we can dig deep and help at least one of them !!

    ....
Jean, you've actually met a kitty with a Chinchilla coat before, Miss Sylvia was a Chinchilla coat Maine Coon cat. It's the siivery-grey coat that they have. I looked at these pictures when I was reading EF mail and they just broke my heart...those kittens look so much like my Syl when she was a baby.

I have a dear friend who has adopted many bad breeder "throwaways" and they are very, very special kitties. Hopefully Sara (from CATS) will be able to get on and post soon, we need to get this baby all fixed up.

    Laura
    .......
Sara still can't seem to figure out how to post, but she is trying, I sent her the instructions and hopefully she will be her shortly.

Below is an email she sent IMOM this morning:
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I am having a horrible time trying to figure out how to post and my time
    is running out.

I am so grateful to everyone and IMOM for the interest they've shown in
my rescues. The entire group of 6 are so special, and after what they've
been through in their little life span, they deserve everything good the
world has to offer them. These wonderful animals are the most affectionate and gentle creatures I've ever brought into my rescue. They have been starved and are very thin, and had no medical treatment.

After having been examined by the veterinarian, they seem to think
there is no eye in the socket. That will require a surgical procedure to
close the eye completely. Thank you for caring as much as I do.

    Sara
    ........

I'm very slow figuring out what to do here, and my heart is so heavy for these
beautiful little things. They've been through so much, and I want to do so much
for them to make their lives better.
I bathed her tonight and got the litter and debris off her three tiny little feet.
    She purred the entire time.
These cats are so very thin from the ordeal that they've been through. I am
starting them on Hill's AD tomorrow for extra vitamins, etc.
    Sara
    .......

Here go the waterworks. In spite of the no doubt unspeakable horrors this baby has lived through, along with her siblings, she will still purr when she's being shown love and care. Thank you Sara for working so hard to help these precious and innocent creatures who I'm sure have never known kindness before you rescued them.

Angels, Sara is working very hard to help all three kittens who so very much need it. Can you please make a donation of any size to make sure that this baby can receive the surgery she needs?
    ....

Can you believe that I finally learned how to do this??????

We are all awake and eating this morning, but appear to be getting an upper
respiratory infection, so we all started on Clavamox as a precaution. I'll reassess
when I go home this afternoon, and it appears to be getting worse, we'll all go to
    the vet.
I have to tell you, I'm blown away with the tremendous response from your
wonderful community. HOW COMFORTING TO KNOW THAT OUR SHARE MY
    ANGUISH OVER THIS.
As I've spent time in the forum this weekend, I've realized how many wonderful little creatures need help. Thank you Community for helping!
Special prayer and good luck to all you others that are seeking help.
    Sara
    .........

Okay Community, I need help naming all these beauties. I have had to come up with so many names lately that I'm completely tapped out for names.

Please, everybody put your thinking caps on and give me some great gorgeous names for the Chinchillas. The name for the one without a paw is Chin Chin.
I'm leaving the others up to you.

Look at their pictures and help give them a name and look what has to be done to make them adoptable. What tremendous beauty.
    Sara
    ......

Okay gang, I'm looking for gorgeous names for gorgeous Chinchilla Persians.
My personal email is [email protected]

We can't let them go without names all their lives. I've just had to come up with
70 new names for the last colony I rescued. My mind is a total blank for new
names. These has to be beautiful names for beautiful babies.

One of the kittens with one eye slept with me last night and actually purred all night long. Ever tried to sleep with a kitten around your neck purring? She needs her one eye fixed as does one other of the Chinchillas, but the little leg of
ChinChin is most important because she can't walk and drags it trying. Please help her to walk again normally even if it is on just three legs.

    Sara
    .....

Now that I've learned how to do this, I'm wearing it out!!!!!!!

I have three appointments for three spays/neuters tomorrow, and another three
    for Thursday.

All of the "whole" adult Chinchillas will be altered. Sara

Q: Can you tell us what is wrong with the other's eyes? You have six and three are healthy right (the adults?) and the three kittens have problems? Just trying to sort it all out!

    From the Chinchilla's Meowmy:

Three of them are in pretty good shape. There were two kittens. One with
only one eye and one with a leg and no paw. The others are adults. One of the adults has only one eye. The others have a slight upper respiratory and are at the vet awaiting alteration.

The one they spayed yesterday was pregnant and I didn't know it when I took her to be spayed, and they didn't call me before they spayed her. I found it out when I got to the vet's office after work. They were having a hard time getting her temperature back up and kept her over night.
The vet bills for all of this are going to be enormous, but sooooooo worth it.
Please if you love Persians or cats in general, please help.
