I am so sorry to hear about Tosha. That sounds almost exactly like what happened to my RB girl. Does she also have a constant head bob in addition to the panting? Fingers and paws will be crossed and prayers sent for sweet Tosha.

Don't give up. My Clancy (RB), a wheaton terrier, had a stroke, and was completely comatose for about 2 days. We brought him home from the doggy ICU after an overnight stay, on "hospice" but with an IV and fluids which I gave him. After the second night home, he got up! He was mostly paralysed on one side, but, ever the terrier, he rehabbed himself. After about 3 weeks he could navigate the stairs and was going on short walks. He lived almost another year before he died from a liver tumor, and he had a great quality of life during most of that time. Most people who didn't know him well couldn't tell that he had had a stroke.
