    Jake must be angora!!!

It says in Jake's "bio" that he is angora mix, but my sister has a pure bred, and he looks exactly like Jake, right down to the mismatched eyes. I had her take a look and she showed everyone in her office and they all agreed that Jake must be Fuzzy's long lost twin. What a beautiful cat. I am thrilled he found a home!

I always thought Angorra cats have blue and green odd eyes. I had never seen one with gold and blue.

Is the kittie all white? I heard that if an all white cat has blue eyes then it will be deaf, and if it has one blue eye it will be deaf in the ear closest to the blue eye.

    Jake

    Hello!

We were thrilled to see Jake as cat of the day on June 11! A nice surprise.

We're just guessing that Jake has some angora in him, since his coat is very different than our other cats'. It's very fine, and he's got a coat of long hair that seems to be seasonal--it falls out in the spring and he looks almost like a shorthair now.

So it sounds like we're on the right track guessing angora? He does a lot of what the vet called "cooing," that trilling thing that I've heard mother cats do to talk to kittens. Is that maybe an angora thing?

    Jake's not deaf

I did read that it's common for odd-eyed white cats to be deaf in the ear on the side of their blue eye. He is totally white.

We know Jake hears well; as far as we can tell, he hears out of both of his ears.

    Re: Jake must be angora!!!

If Fuzzy is in Minneapolis/St Paul, perhaps they're related!

Jake was picked up as a stray by the St Paul humane society. He wasn't fixed when they picked him up, at about 3 years old, so we think there are probably little Jakes running around town somewhere!
