Eek.. Okay, long story short - I'm not completely sure, but I think I might need to get ready to take on another puppy. I haven't raised a puppy since Lucky and I remember what an excruciating experience that was. I remember destroyed furniture, housebreaking, destroyed clothing, routine escapes, etc. etc. I consider myself a rather competent dog owner when it comes to mild behaviorial problems and diet/nutrition, but the mere thought of raising another puppy is enough to make me scream. For the reasons above, I chose to bypass puppyhood with my second dog, which is why I opted to adopt an older dog (Giselle).

I'm still not sure as to whether or not I'm really going to be taking a puppy in, but if the need arises, I will need tips! I know it's recommended to start crate training, NILIF, and tethering, but what else?

I don't crate Giselle or Lucky other than when they're sleeping, so how long is it appropriate to crate a puppy? Bathroom breaks? Housebreaking? Oh dear, I'm hyperventilating already
