Camera suggestions?

I dont want to spend more than $300 but i want a good camera
I want a camera that takes quality pictures and captures detail and takes good action pictures...

small/compact would be a bonus but it doesnt have to be small/compact

anyone have any suggestions?

You could get a camera like mine it works great and with it came a free charger and carry case I got it from best buy for only 260 bucks.

It was called a Samsung Digi max s 600 and it was black and im pretty shur its a 6.0 which is good also for taking quick snap shots of somthen moving.

The Canon S2 is fabulous, and in your price range - several Pet Talkers have one - see Kirsten's recent Macro photos for an example.

JMO i would stay away from Samsungs digital camera's, from experience they have not been the best quality nor haven they taken the best quality photos. Check out Canon and also Panasonic. I have been very happy with my Panasonic Lumix FZ5.

I am looking into the Canon S2 IS at the moment. But will eventually go for a NikonD50 or 70.

Brands I recommend staying FAR away from though are HP and Kodak.

Certainly go with a Canon. You won't be disappointed.
