My Borris has just been diagnosed with Idopathic Chylothorax. They tapped his lungs and took out close to 20 onces. I've been reading some prior posts trying to learn as much as I can about this awful disease. I'm so scared.
He is to return to the vet on Friday for another x-ray / checkup. The vet didn't sound very promising, although she said to switch him to a low-fat diet and to give him Rutin. It was my understanding that it was in a capsule form that could be sqirted over his food. However, I was only able to find it (in our local area) in a tablet form. Can this be done? Should I crush it into his food? I know trying to coax it down him is NOT an option... he won't have any of that! I am glad to see that his appetite is back. So maybe hiding it in some moist food would do the trick.. Has anyone ever tried this or is it usually administered from a capsule?
Hoping someone can help... We need it!
