Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers

That picture really had me laughing! eeeew... here birdie birdie!

Chester was sitting at the front door this morning doing that "ack, ack, ack" thing at a bird. Just as I grabbed the camera, he stopped. His mouth works so funny when he does that.. Do they do that when they see birds?

Wouldn't it be nice to get so much pleasure out of the sight of something so simple and commonplace as a bird...... sigh...sometimes I envy cats....

According to the book "Catwatching" by Desmond Morris, the chatter of the cat's teeth when watching a bird, is known as 'vacuum activity'. I'll quote from the book, "The cat is performing its highly specialized killing-bite, as if it already had the unfortunate bird clamped between its jaws."

So, cats watching birds might be cute to us, but to a cat it is serious and deadly business.

I was going to mention that, Brian...shows the killer instincts are very much alive in our babies, though they certainly don't need the outdoor food!

When I was growing up, we called the sound "going rackety-rack" because of the vibration caused by rapid repeats.

My guys don't do that when they see a critter outside the window...hmmm...they MIGHT be too spoiled!

I love bird-watching-from-the-window pics - they're so funny! And the best thing is: the birds are still safe!
