Wisconsin is $5.25, I believe. Thank God I don't make min. wage! I just got a job and I get $8.25/hr and $12.75 on Sundays and holidays! I can't complain.

I do think min. wage is insane, how do they expect people to make a living off of $5.25 an hour!?

When I tutored, I got over minimum wage, $6.30. Considering I worked 3 hours a week, it wasn't much, but it was better than minimum wage, and all I did was play with kids...

That website that ILoveMyAbbyGirl posted said "No state minimum wage law", but I always knew it to be $5.15.

  5. There is NO minimum wage in Florida....nor Tennessee, South Carolina, Mississippi, Alabama and Arizona. There is a federal minimum wage --- $5.15 that applies to any employer (except agriculture) engaged in interstate commerce.

*EDIT* it's not $4.25 now, it' is $5.15 Ohio But geesh it's only $2.13/hr for tipped employees (which is what I get paid).
I have the same situation. In Pennsylvania it's $5.15 as well, but I am a tipped employee, and make the $2 an hour or whatever it is here. However, my boss makes a few adjustments: Daytime staff gets a higher hourly rate because the tips aren't as high at lunch, and if we have to hostess one night, we get more too.
I just got a raise, and it's still a joke.

It's $5.15 an hour here in Az. From what I've heard it's been that much for a really long time, I keep hearing that it's supposed to be raised. But I have no idea if, and when that will be happening.

    I've been promoted

I am acting manager while our manager is away on maternity leave. When and if she comes back, I get to keep the pay, but give her back the responsiblities

Its $7.05 here, but before you start packing, we are still reeling from the recession and have higher unemployment than most states.

The west coast in general is more expensive - higher wages but higher costs of living.

Its also an issue of supply and demand - if employees are scarce - then employers will pay more - even for unskilled jobs. The reverse is also true.
