Thread: I'm having a "bad rescue day"

  1. #16
Doing great and getting fatter! I switched them over to a homemade formula of egg whites, goat's milk, water, a splash of canola oil and a couple of drops of puppy vitamins. They like it much better than the powdered stuff. The one tiny girl isn't sucking as strongly today so I'm keeping a very close eye on her.

I, on the otherhand, am turning into a cranky witch. The sleep deprivation is getting to me and my poor husband is ready to move out for a couple of weeks.

I'll try to get another picture on later today when I get some time to actually sit down.

I can't imagine what kind of people would not let the pups stay with their mother until they were weaned! But it's really wonderful of you to nurse them. You have a big, warm heart!

    Thanks for the siggy, Lexi_Lover!

Thank goodness you were there to take them.

Can you imagine how it would be for the pups if the woman actually took them home...... at least this way the pups are in a good loving caring environment.

Poor Momma dog, to bad you couldn't have taken her home as well. All I can picture is her after surgery thrown out in the backyard.

I hope her owners are more responsible about taking care of her from now on.....

    Makes me so mad!!!

Oh, the pups are so cute! The situation makes me so mad, but I'm so glad that you are there to take care of these pups. Thanks for helping them! It takes a really special person to do a think like that out of the kindness of their heart!

Here's some pics of the babies I took today. The first two are little girls and the last 2 are the boys. They are 6 days old today.

OMG!! They are all just too sweet! That one sure looks like husky, doesn't it? I'm not sure about the others hard to say. Well, keep up the good work!

    NWS_Haven,

The babies are precious. Look at their tiny feet. LOL.
I hope they contine to do so well, but I also wish you had
some help with this Big job.Do you know of any new Momma
dogs who might accept them to nurse? Just think, the first
thing they'll see when their eyes open is you.

I checked around Liz and couldn't find any nursing moms. Well, one but I don't trust or like the person who had the litter.
They're starting to go 3-4 hours between bottles now which allows me very quick cat naps....if the other dogs will allow it. My husband almost got slapped again when he went in and woke them up yesterday just to tell them how cute they are. I had JUST fed them and gotten them settled in. LOL I'm dangerous to live with right now.

I have noticed quite a few new grey hairs pop up!

They are just to cute! What a good "mom" you are!!!

I agree the one looks like Husky, do you think perhaps they could have lab in them too? When they are so young it is hard to tell & then only time will tell (maybe???).

    Keep up the good work!
