Get him fixed WILL make a difference - she should do that immediately. Then she can work on training him, but right now, hormones are helping drive his behavior. It won;t make him overnight into an angel, but it WILL curb some of his behavior issues - like when he hurt you by trying to mate with your leg.
Neutered or not, I think he sounds very aggressive. neutering would be first step for sure. Talk to her and tell her you are afraid of him. Personally I probably would never want to be around the dog, doesn't sound too safe to me. Your friend hasn't socialized him and has let him rule the house too long.
