My neighbor is also my stylist. Her shop is about 10 min. away but in a pinch I have been known to go to her house. I go every 6 weeks. I find that if I wear my hair short, as I do now, I have to - otherwise it loses its shape. I do my own coloring. She told me what they use in the shop and I go to the beauty supply store and buy it there. Save me a bundle and I can sit with that goop on my head in the privacy of my own home.

I agree totally with what someone else said about breaking in a new stylist. It is a very scary thing indeed. You never know if you have communicated properly what it is that you want done and sometimes they just "do their own thing" anyway and it's not at all what you had in mind. Fran can practically cut my hair in her sleep now, because she's been doing it so long.
