    Experiences with biotin anyone?

I took both my girls to the white coats yesterday; Lily for her annual shots and Luna because she's shedding a lot of fur lately. Actually her fluffy tail is much thinner already!

The vet looked at her and said it's nothing pathological because there are no bald spots and the fur looks shiny and healthy. She also checked her heart and said it's fine!

I think it's a change in diet that might have caused the shedding. Since Luna was always getting diarrhea from Hill's Indoors (too much fibre, I suppose), the girls are eating Whiskas now (both dry and canned food), and they also get multivitamine paste as a supplement. Luna is also getting another paste called Uro-Pet mixed with her canned food, it's to keep the pH-value in her bladder in balance to prevent further crystals.

Now the vet gave me a can with biotin powder to mix it under her food as well. It's good for fur and skin! Does anyon have experiences with biotin? I know it's also a supplement in the human diet, it's a b-vitamine, isn't it?

    Thanks for the link!

BTW, so far she is accepting it very well. I'm mixing it under her wet food and she's eating it without any problems.

I'm glad Luna is accepting her change in diet. I hope it helps keep her system in order.
