Oh yes, you get attached. You watch them gaining your trust, letting you get closer and closer, waiting for you to feed them, and some even becoming tame. It's so hard not to become attached. I'll miss seeing him waiting for me.
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers

I am so sorry for your loss!

At least he went to the Rainbow Bridge having experienced the loving and caring side of humans - not just the ugly side!

He is one more little angel waiting on the bridge, and he can play and never be afraid again!

That is so sad and I know that he appreciated all you did. RIP sweet boy.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

I'm sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is to lose a cat that you call your own. We mourn for a nameless cat we see dead on the road, what more if we were given the privilege to know him. Like they all said, he is in a better place now. You've had him for a short time but that is better than not knowing him at all. He probably gave way to a new stray to come your way. Thank you for giving him love in his short stay here on earth. Thank you for giving so much to the animals and helping those of us help them.
