I always smile when, living in the city, I walk past piles of carefully packages and wrapped up manure at the farmer's market or produce market bragging about where it's from - chickens, horses, cows, etc. Poop is indeed poop! And guess what - it all IS organic!
Karen, is that true? I mean, I know all poop is poop, and it is an organic material...in that it isn't inorganic, but I thought there WAS something special about horse/cow manure, and that was why we didn't fertilize with dog/cat poop. ???

Yes, the different manures have different contents, horses and cows are herbivores, and each one's contains different nutrients that get returned to the soil. Cats and dogs are meat eaters, so not nearly as useful for our gardens, and more unhelpful bacteria in it. It depends on what crop you are fertilizing, too. For Dad's rhubarb patch, he's get a wheelbarrow of bunny droppings from the family up the hill once a year, and the rhubarb is the envy of everyone around!

I've always heard elephant manure is the best for the garden....

But when I was a teenager and my mother had horses...people would come by for some manure for their gardens. Always pleased me as that meant that much less to scoop up!

I passed math!?!? I may have gotten a C, but I passed! AND it doesn't count toward my GPA (it's a basic skills class..but next semester I need to get serious). AND It's summer!! AND I am getting a much needed vacation to Canada and Disney World in July....ahhh life is good. More hiking this summer as well

Sorry, that was extremely random and childish but I am so happy!

ETA: AND this continues my record of never failing a class!

    Congratulations, Alyssa!!!

Gotta toot my own horn for a minute...

I made an A in Food history, a B+ in musicology, a B in calculus, a B- in animal reproduction, and a C+ in biology!

I am so excited I could scream over the B- in repro. That class kicked my butt to the max and I am so proud for making a B-! And for my second time taking Biology, I am completely happy with my C+. It'll replace that awful D I had in the class the first time.

This better boost my GPA a ton. I have to have a 3.0 by the end of next semester to get my scholarship back!

I tried Turkey Hill Farms Sun Tea because I had a coupon. It is very weak tea, I was expecting something stronger from the color. So if you like your iced tea strong, skip it! My little public service announcement.
