Well I certainly hope she feels better.Just keep her hydrated. (((hugs)))
How long has she been without water? You can go get some plain pedialyte and mix it with water and put it in a syringe and give it to her in her mouth. Hydration is very important, especially since she is vomiting. It makes them really dehydrated. You can also give her some wet dog food, there is a little water content in that. I hope your baby feels better soon, sorry she is sick.![]()
Sona I am so sorry to read about Clover. Keeping her hydrated is very important. When I had Missy spayed 4 years ago her veterinary told us not to give her any solids for a good 48 hours after the surgery but plenty of water. She also had pain medicine. On the third day we gave her some solids & she threw them up. By the fourth day she held her solids down. The anesthesia takes a time to wear off & even humans can get sick from it. Peeing is a lot easier then having a bowel movement which can sometimes cause straining too. I am sorry you & Clover are having to go through this. I was a nervous wreck before, during, & after Missy's surgery. (((HUGS))) for you both.
Good advice. There's no need to rush with solid food right away, in fact
it could cause her to throw up. Water is reasonable if she is already awake.
It does take time for the anesthesia to leave her system. I too am surprised
they didn't send home a least a few pain pills for her.

They told us she can resume normal eating when I took her homeI've been sick all day with worry. She's not showing any interest in anything right now. She won't drink. I don't want to force her. She seems fairly comfortable sleeping. She's wrapped in a warm blanket cause she was cold. I just wish it was tomorrow so if she needs more tests I can get her in. I hate not knowing if she's ok. They said it's normal for her to be so sleepy with the meds they gave her...
