I have been running into a few people making fun of the fans lately, (not here, other sites) and I'm sorry, but it's some of our childhoods, literally. I was introduced to it in 1998. I made friends, met people, learned how to not be a social outcast because of these books, and quite frankly, when this all happens during the most difficult and (for me dark and depressed) times of your life, it's going to mean a lot to you.

And even if it's not your childhood, it bothers me when people tease others for being passionate about something. Sports fans dress up in jerseys, hats and face paint, people dress up in cultural garb for celebrations and special events, for Halloween (and I remember Fasching in Germany, too), for Renaissance festivals, etc. I never really understood why people (especially grown adults) felt the need to make fun of people who dress up for anything. It's fun for those people, even if you don't think so! I even kinda get why kids do it to each other, because kids can just be cruel or they're buckling under peer pressure. But, it kills me when adults make fun. At some point, it's important to evolve.

I was about 13 when the books came out and 16 when the movies came out.. I don't care if people make fun of me for being a fan... Hell my aunt who is almost 60 is a fan and I went to the 1st part of the Deathly Hallows with her last year, so it really isn't an age-based thing. Just like the Disney Channel/Movies..it's for everyone.

yep it is sad that it is human nature to poke fun at whatever we think we can, thats why animals are so unique and wonderful IMO,nothing wrong with being a fan, at whatever age of anything,and people should just mind their own business shouldn't they?

Hope you enjoy the movie,even my girl who is not a huge fan really did enjoy it.
