Catty1 has been doing it safely for quite some time. Many vets also say that Clomicalm is for dogs and shouldn't be given to cats but my late vet recommended it to me for my pee cats and my present vet agrees that it's safe. My pee cats have been on it for 6 years now. However, if someone is too afraid to give the spray/collar or Clomicalm a try, then they should trust their feelings.

I think the manufacturer was worried that people would use a full spray, and get not only the collar, but the cat's fur as well. And yes, it should NOT be sprayed on the cat.

With a little practice, you can do a slow squirt so it doesn't spray all over...you might even want to remove the collar, shake the bottle and put a wee squirt in the collar, then put it back on the cat.

My vet loved this idea...and I did it with Oscar for over a year, with no ill effects whatever.

I think the key is to squirt, not spray, the Feliway. But by all means, do what makes sense to you. This is only my experience.

So far I've sprayed the two chairs upstairs and little corner of swim coverup that Abby has decided is a good blanket for her to sleep on in the walk in closet.

Since spraying, Abby has been hanging out on the blanket on top of storage box instead of hiding in back of my closet behind clothes.

Not sure how Aly is reacting to spray, I do know she hasnt made anyone mad this afternoon or evening.
