If you have any friends or acquaintances that does ceramics, have them make you one. Or take a ceramics class and make yourself one. Years ago, my then MIL took a ceramics class for the sole purpose of making a bunch of these to give as Christmas gifts. I still have mine, and it is displayed every year, without fail.

I, being a girly-girl as per usual, asked for clothes, clothes and more clothes! Having said that, this year all were required to be machine washable. Handwashing... I could do without it.

Other than that - money, chocolate and alcohol - to keep a poor student going!
