Prayers going out to Coop, hoping that he will be back to "normal" really soon. Just got out of the hospital this a.m. with the same surgery, and now should be on my way to complete recovery. I've already noticed the lack of the pain in my hip and leg, so something is going right already. All that I have now, is just pain from the incision, and that should be fading fast! Thank God for small miracles. Not too long before I'll be doing the jig

I hope Coop gets his surgery soon and recovers completely. Pomtzu, that is so great that you have pain relief already. Prayers that Coop has the same!

I had spinal surgery back in 1983. The pain was gone when I woke from anesthesia. And it has never come back.

Prayers for a speedy surgery and recovery for Coop

Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers. I am just so worried; for Coop to show any pain means he's in such distress.

I had a spinal lamenectomy (sp) in Jan 2005, on my L4-5 and it gave me instant relief, unlike I had known in over 30 years, despite morphine and so many other narcotics. I still say it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Due to a congenital defect, I'll also need surgery on the L3-4 (above the first surgery) but, I'll be so happy to be relieved. Spinal stenosis sucks. It didn't seem long until I was able to do more activities than I had in all those years. I hope and pray that Coop will feel like his old self again (sing in that shower Man!). He has 2 wonderful nurses.

Sorry I didn't reply to this thread sooner. Surgery sucks in any case, but hey, if it relieves him even a little it's for the best. I'm sorry you have to deal with this now, especially so close to the holidays. I'll be thinking of you and your husband.

I am just now seeing this. Your first entry broke my heart. I hope you're both blessed with a successful surgery. May happiness enter your life again soon.

What, exactly, are they going to do? And will they tie him up in a big red bow, post-op? You know, sort of a Merry Christmas wrapping
