Time to get the prayers lined up again!

We have known for some time that Sam would be a kidney transplant recipient. The by-product of her illness caused renal failure. The time for the transplant surgery is here, Tuesday, November 30, 2010, to be exact. Sam's mother (and my sister) is the donor. Somehow, God saw to it that Jessica is a good of a match as a biological parent would be. Just remarkable.

So, on Tuesday, my sister and Sam enter the operating room at the same time. Jessica's procedure is somewhat "simple", but of course still scary, life altering, etc. Sam's procedure is a bit more complicated, and involves a long recovery time. We prolly won't see Sam for Christmas, and they skipped Thanksgiving to ward off as much extra germs as they could. The hospital is on limited visitation schedule, as it is the flu season. So, I won't see them for months, probably.

Anyhow, I ask for prayers for my neice, Samantha, my sister, Jessica and her husband Rob as they travel this next step.

    Thanks,
    Johanna

    Johanna...

I was unaware till now, of the story of Samantha. Tho I did not read this entire thread, I did scan thru, and now have some idea of the ordeal of this dear little child, and of course her parents.

Many prayers for a successful transplant, and as easy a recovery as possible. Of course you and your entire family will be in my thoughts and prayers as well.

Prayers for Sam and Jessica. There are no coincidences. God brought them together as a family, and its truly a miracle that Jessica is a match for Sam!

In 2008, we all waited & prayed with my SIL as she had a kidney transplant - my heart goes out to any family going thru the difficult wait for a matching donor. Many never get matched on time. Also a good reason everyone should be an organ donor.
