I never went to the prom but was asked once. A lot of the girls ended up with big bellies from going to the prom & it was not gas.

That's the trouble with Proms. All that free food available, and the girls just eat and eat until they're ready to burst. Not good !!!!

I believe one should be able to attend a dance with the date of one's choice, regardless of gender. I think one should be able to wear tasteful clothing to said, regardless whether it is a dress or slacks. I think the fact that this is even occurring in 2010 is pathetic.

"We are raised to honor all the wrong explorers and discoverers - thieves planting flags, murderers carrying crosses. Let us at last praise the colonizers of dreams."- P.S. Beagle

I wore a pair of holey Chuck Taylors to my prom. It was horrible and I left early. She should have just stayed home with her girlfriend, it probably would have been more fun.

I agree with you completely, Twisterdog.

    Death thought about it.

I laughed this morning because of one educator at a secondary school.....

A dad heard about a really cruel teacher that was posting lists of kids who had failed to keep up in their classes.

The lists were there to remind them that theyt were excluded from any field trips, dances and other extracurricular activities because of their grades.

The father heard about the list, went on campus and took a picture of the paper and began to complain that it was damaging to his daughter and her 'pride'.

The father had NO PROBLEM crying about his daughter's ego-but said nothing about his lazy spawn being a fracking failure in her studies. Gotta tell you...

I would have been PUMMELED and I would have been told that IF I DID NOT GET MY GRADES OUT OF THE "EPIC FAIL" zone?

    MY mom would have..

    Yelled at me.
Yelled at me for making her HAVE TO GO TO THE SCHOOL FOR MY FAILURE.
    Yelled at me some more.

(I know I am not supposed to use this letter, but it gets the point across...)

She would have EFFED my world up to the point where I would have seriously thought about AutoEuthanasia-that or moving to the moon....

    LOL,
I hope the world does end in 2012.

Growing up, I always felt very privileged about the world that I grew up in and wondered about the kids that followed. I didn't want to leave the planet in a wasted way or messed up for them.

    Now?

Frack them and Frack the idiotic parents who refuse to put boundaries on THEIR kid's behavior. The funniest part is the mothers and fathers who want to be friends, as opposed to parents to their nasty, rude, crude and ill mannered offspring.

NOT ALL KIDS AND PARENTS are that way. Let's just say that if you are curious about the shoe fitting? Put them on and start walking.

    ---------------------

    Both my parents are gone.

But, I still fear the prospect of screwing up royally and them finding out about it.

    LOL,

    I fear dead people.

And the rest of the kids at the school got the finger.

    What a travesty.

More stupidity and proof that the rules do not apply to YOUR kid.

And what about the people who chose the swat/paddle?

Hats off to them for 'man-ing up'!

I always agree with you, too.

Why should anyone 'skirt the issue' (pun intended)? She shouldn't have to lie, heck, she shouldn't even have to discuss the issue with school officials.

    It should be a non-issue.
