My dads last house was across the valley from Cold Mountain, or so he says. I was only there once.
I love the area around Cold Mountain. Pisgah National Forest was one of my all time favorite Mnt Bike destinations. The riding there was unreal. The Biltmore in Ashville is a must see if in the area. The Blue Ridge in that area is very beautiful. I lived in the Blue Ridge up in Virginia on 3 separate occasions but it can't compare to the area around Cold Mountain/Pisgah.
