Here we go again Terry - round 4
1. I have never eaten avocado. I just can't get past the looks!
2. When I was little - I got car sick all the time. No Sunday afternoon drive was any fun.
3. My first few month of 1st grade, I had to have a home tutor. The new school in walking distance wasn't completed, and I couldn't take the bus to the temporary school. (Bus sick!)
4. I spent my 60th birthday on a 24 hr train ride to Miami to attend my brother's funeral. I don't do planes!
5. When I travel I must have a window seat. Need somewhere to prop my pillow so I can sleep!
6. I was born and raised in New England, but to this day, have never been to Maine or Vermont.
7. I have walked to the top of the Washington Monument.
8. When I was a kid, I slammed the car door shut on 3 fingers. Nothing broken, but lost a couple of fingernails.
9. When I was an adult, a "helpful" store clerk loading a heavy item into the trunk of my car, slammed the trunk closed on the same 3 fingers. Again - nothing broken - just some nerve damage in 1 finger.
10. I never learned to play a musical instrument which was a bummer, since I envied those in the marching band in h.s.
11. People that scuff their feet are very annoying to me. Pick them up!!!
12. I hate pulling weeds, so I'm not much of a gardener.
13. I tend to get nervous on very windy days. I been thru several hurricanes and one very small tornado.
14. I taught myself to knit, crochet and do macrame. I just couldn't get it when my mother tried to teach me. My favorite projects were afghans.
15. I cut my long hair when I turned 30, because I listened to my mother when she said I was getting "too old" for long hair. I still regret it.
16. I hate guns. My ex was in law enforcement, and I hated that he had his service revolver in the house.
17. I haven't worn a dress & heels in the three years since I retired.
18. I have cheated death twice, so I celebrate every day that I'm alive, no matter how bad things may seem at times.
19. Tomorrow is the 1st anniversary of fracturing my hip, and I am celebrating not breaking anything else since. I hope I didn't jinx myself by saying that!
20. I have never worked as a waitress, nor worked in a fast food joint - ever!
21. White roses are my favorite flower.
22. I used to ride a bike about 20 miles a day if I didn't have to work. Lots of woodland preserves around here to enjoy.
23. My RB Meezer Ming was catnapped from out of state by my sil and given to me. He was only a kitten and was being abused - something neither of us could tolerate. He was with me for 20 years!.
24. People think I'm tough - but I'm a real marshmallow. Even the sight of road kill upsets me, and I can't watch any t.v. shows like Animal Precinct or the old Emergency Vet show. Too upsetting, and I can't get the images out of my head.
25. All the men on my father's side of the family died relatively young - early 70's and under. However my surviving brother has broken the record and will be 75 this year. All the woman on that side of the family did much better - living in to their 80's and even one in her 90's. Hmmm - wonder where I fit in there???
26. When I was in grade school, I wrote an essay that won me a trip to the U.N. and Radio City Music Hall. That was my first train trip.
27. I never got my driver's license until after I was married, because my father was a very old-fashioned Italian dad, and he believed that women didn't need to know how to drive, and wouldn't allow me to take driver's-ed in school. Obviously, my mother never learned to drive!
28. I'd like to see Medusa give us at least one list on here. Come on Mary!
