I had forgotten to list that I am also a person that can't stand avocado until recently. I couldn't stand the texture, the look, the taste, etc.

For the Super Bowl, I made my first guacamole and it was delicious!! I couldn't eat alot of it but I'm getting better.

LOL! To me, they just look like something that has gone bad and should be thrown out!!!

But what about Passion fruit? I love both Avocado and Passion fruit. Avocado's have to be the ones with a coarse skin, though.

I've never had Passion Fruit. I love Kiwi fruit tho. I like most all fruit - I just can't bring myself to try avocado. I even like Pomegranates.

Avocados are called "alligator pears" in some areas and there are two types smooth and coarse skinned, Haas is one type, I can't think oif the other.

Richard, this is very simple and I know you've done it this way:

GUACAMOLE RECIPE

3 ripe avocados(more if you wish)
2 plum tomatoes-deseeded
2 cloves of carlic finely diced
Cilantro to taste(I used quite a bit)
2 green onions sliced, tops and all
1 fresh jalapeno, diced-deseeded
Pickled jalapenos-I used about 8 slices-HOT HOT HOT!!!
1 tbsp. juice from the pickled jalapenos-EVEN HOTTER
Salt
Coarsely ground peppercorns
Juice of one nice juicy lime

Put the avocado in a bowl(I didn't mash it). I left it chunky so I could eat it.
Mix all ingredients with the avocado. Stir together gently, leaving chunks.
Squirt lime juice all over the mixture and gently stir in. You can add this with everything else if you want to avoid stirring too much.

If you like it mashed, just mash it or stir normally.

I think that's all I put in it, Richard. I hate it even more when it turns brown. The lime juice helps that from happening.
I dipped it with tortilla wedges I deep fried. It was delicious!!

ETA: I may have thrown some more spices I like in there too. I'm good at throwing everything in the spice rack in all my dishes.

Carmen, that book was so sad. At the end, I was bawling. I felt like I knew him and his family and all I could see were his kids and Jai not having him anymore. How cool that he wrote that book and left it for his legacy.

My sports random 28...

1 I love all kinds of sports, if it moves, I'll watch.

2 Racing is the best. I have been to Off Road races in Nevada and California.

3. I have been to every huge stadium in So Cal and San Diego.

4. I have been to basketball games in seats so close I could hear the shoes squeak and players cussing.

5. I have been to hockey games where I have heard the bones squeak and players cussing.

6. Baseball is the best-But, I really love football!

7. I went to a whole season of Arena Football games for the old L.A. Cobras.

8. I went to about 50 Raiders games when they played in Lost Angeles.

9. I have been to an AFC championship game with 100,000 other idiots.

10. I met Todd Christensen once at a TV show taping.

11. I hate Al Davis with a passion.

12. My first pro football game was a Monday Night Game where the Raiders scored 24 point to come from behind and win!

13. I can't drive after I watch "Days of Thunder", I'll kill myself.

14. I love bicycle racing and haven't been to the velodrome in a while!

15. I was at Fernando Valenzuela's first games he ever pitched.

16. Dodger Dogs are the FRICKING best hot dogs at a game.

17. I met Dusty Baker.

18. I am an Olympic junkie. I'll watch anything except ice skating.

19. I went to events in three different counties in 1984. Baseball, Greco ROman wrassling and canoeing x2

20. I was at the very first baseball double header for the Olympics. Check the roster of that team and all but one player made he majors. Flavio Alfaro-he lived in our neighborhood.

21. I love the torch run and followed the dang thing as it cruised thru the valley in 1984.

22. I have seen the torch runs for the L.A., Atlanta and SLC Olympics! The best!

23.I LOVE VOLLEY BALL! indoor better than beach!

24. MY favorite stadium is Dodger Stadium. My not so fave is L.A. Sports Arena.

25. I dislike the owners of the Dodgers!

26. I was at Terry Bradshaw's last game he dressed for.

27. I can score a baseball game.

28. And I cannot stand going to any event and listening to the morons in the stands starting to yell and bellow before the Star Spangled Banner ends-oh, and wearing their hats, too!
