    LOL Thanks. I think.

Talking Politics rarely makes friends. LOL I mean, while politics is the 2nd oldest profession, it bears a striking resemblance to the first, ya know? LOL

Also remember that I like to "discuss" that stuff here because most of the people here do NOT agree with me and I like that. I seek out differing opinions, not only to possibly change some minds, but to possibly have mine changed too. Preaching to the choir is no fun and nobody learns anything new, eh?

    A sneek peek...

#1 - "Show me your friends and I will show you your future."

Some people here disagree with this. But I believe, especially for young people, that who we associate with not only says a lot about who we are, but effects who we will be. Even if you are squeaky clean, when you associate with people who are not... It gets you dirty too.

#12 - "You can tell a great deal about a person from how they treat people who serve them."

How do you treat the people who serve you at McDonalds? A grocery store?

Etc.... It is a work in progress and will take me years to finish. Mainly because as I age, I am certain I will become more wise and will want to change some of the things for it. Values should never change, opinions can.

I agree with a lot of that. We have a saying where I work "We rise or fall to the level of our friends".

Thumbs up! I agree with those.
If they're all this wise, then she'll have a book to treasure her whole life thru. Hopefully she'll thank her Dad for the time and love that he put in to it, even if she doesn't agree with everything he says! (Do they ever?)

    I'll jump on the bandwagon

I swear I just killed over an hour reading through all of these and found everyone very interesting. I even learned a few things I didn't know before!

Here are my 28 random things:

    1. I like my job and my boss.

    2. I never thought I would live in California and like wine as much as I do.

    3. I have an obession with all things Irish/Celtic and have wanted to see Ireland since I was like 10 years old.

    4. I love oriental cats and have 2! They are my dream pet and I'll never live in a house without an oriental.

    5. I have met Heywood Banks 3 times (extra credit to those who know who Heywood Banks is!)

    6. I joined the marching band in high school because a friend of mine told me they were going to Toronto my Senior year. I had a Clarinet, but didn't really know how to play. I joined anyway and even though I couldn't really read music (what are all those black dots?) I listened to everyone around me and learned the music that way - this even got me through 4 years of college bands!

    7. I love wolves and did some volunteer work at Wolf Park when I was in college. I even got to hold a baby wolf. So cute! I really learned a lot about canine behavior working there.

    8. I have been a member of an online forum (Pet Talk) since Jan 2001, and am still posting today! I have met so many people in this forum that are now friends in real-life.

    9. I don't like the way I look - I have very low self-esteem

    10. I'm very proud of my sister who has overcome many difficult challenges in life. She's a Doctor! Cool, huh?

    11. I worked in a vet hospital for a year and still maintain their website!

    12. I can't go to bed without washing my face and brushing my teeth - otherwise something just doesn't feel right

    13. It takes forever for me to fall asleep, so I read every night. If I don't read, I will toss and turn and not sleep well. Even if I'm really tired, I still need to read at least a sentence or a page...basically until my eyes get heavy and I start to fall asleep.

    14. I get "vibes" about people, places and things

    15. I can't leave the house without making my bed - it feels too disorganized if the bed is left unmade. Similarly, clutter in the house stresses me out. I hate to clean, but usually feel much more calmn when things are newly fresh and clean and everything is in it's place.

    16. My husband is a really good cook!

    17. If I hit the lottery, I would buy a house on a beach or at least near the ocean. The ocean has a calming effect on me - the sound of waves is one of my favorite sounds. Better yet, a house on the coast of Ireland would be awesome!

    18. My best friends are my husband and parents

    19. I really admire my dad - he can do anything!

    20. I tend to be a people-pleaser, even at the sacrifice of my own happiness sometimes.

    21. I never wear shoes in the house (unless I'm leaving)

    22. I have been friends with someone since 1st grade - even though we live far apart now, when I see her it's like no time has passed at all. :-)

    23. I have a strange fascination with gnomes & fairies

    24. I have been to India, which was amazing. I got to see where my husband was born and meet his whole family (30 members anyone??!!) which was very special. I can't wait to go back!

    25. I'm very happy with where I am with my life. I have everything I've always wanted: my husband, my kitties, a job I like, a roof over our heads and food in our mouths and a supportive family on both sides. :-)

    26. If I could play any instrument I wanted and be really good at it, I'd want it to be the Irish fiddle

    27. I'm madly in love with my husband. I swear I feel my heart swell when he is nearby.

    28. I have a fear of doctors and haven't been for a regular checkup since before my trip to India. I really know I should get regular checkups, I just have a phobia of doing so.
