I'll take it anyway I can get it lol, on tv, live, on the radio. I don't care lol. I have listened to many a habs game on the radio before my center ice days... doesn't have QUITE the same magic but better than nothing

Our AHL team here is Hershey Bears... but their home opener isn't until October 18th or 19th I think. So we have to wait. We took Hannah to her first hockey game there when she was three months old LOL. can't wait to take her again and take her to see CoCo (the mascot). Although most of the players from the past couple of years are now up with the Caps. they aren't my favorite team but they do have my favorite goalie so I can't wait to go see them play this year.

WOOT... Go habs 6-1 win over the Leafs last night *does happy dance*

BUT... I am TOTALLY P.O'd that Hockey Night in Canada actually went through with a theme song change. Why don't you just change the canadian national anthem for crying out loud

R.I.P my dear Sweet Teddy. You will be missed forever. We love you.

On the radio - brings back memories.

I can remember times driving into work at night - picking up a Canadian station on the car radio. There was a hockey game - in French!! I could still pick out player's names, and no mistaking a goal.

    EH-LA-BUTTTTTTT!!!!

It's TEH FUNNAY watching a TV broadcast of a Habs home game. When they score, that little screen that goes around the middle mezzanine says...

    BUT!!!

    LOL

Also, the French word for "Goalie"... Gardiene de But (Sp?)

    From ESPN -
Hossa gave Detroit a 2-1 lead for good with his first goal. He picked up a loose puck just inside the Atlanta blue line, cut in off the left wing, used a fake and a toe drag while cutting across the slot on defenseman Mathieu Schneider, a former Red Wing, and goalie Kari Lehtonen and put the puck into the empty net.
This was a high light goal - for sure. If you get to see it, you will understand. I kept re-winding, over and over.

Then there was this that happened in St. Louis tonight -
Ex-Red Wings goalie injured on Palin red carpet

ST. LOUIS — St. Louis Blues goalie Manny Legace left after one period Friday night with an injury that might have occurred when he tripped over the carpet placed on the ice for Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

The Alaska governor dropped the ceremonial first puck before the Blues hosted the Los Angeles Kings. A narrow carpet walkway was placed from the gate at the Blues bench for Palin, her husband and two of her daughters to walk to center ice.

Just before the ceremony, Legace was the first player onto the ice for St. Louis. A team official pointed to the carpet, but as Legace stepped onto it with his skate, he fell, then gingerly made his way to the crease.

After that, the team official rolled up enough of the carpet so other players wouldn’t have to step on it.

Legace played one period, giving up two goals on 12 shots. After the intermission, the team said he suffered a “lower body” injury but did not elaborate.

He was replaced by Ben Bishop, making his NHL debut.

Oh, yeah, I went through two years feeling that way. I listened to many Stars games on the radio at work (we weren't allowed to have radios, but I worked late enough and would sneak one in and keep it low).
