Happy Holidays!
It's hard to believe it's that time of year again. Sam's doing well, and looking forward to Christmas. She had another fun Halloween, and enjoyed the county fair again; Thanksgiving was also fun. She continues to do well in school and in therapy, and had a speaking role in the Christmas pageant this year--and she walked on stage! Words can't describe how it felt to see her walk up with all her classmates; we were reminded yet again of how lucky we are to have Karen & Dave & the staff at Precious Resources in Sam's life--they play a huge role in her progress. Sam's therapist Kate agrees!
Sam's check-up at Children's again showed no major changes, and her doctor was pleased. We're going back & forth w/the potty training, but in light of all Sam's other progress, we really can't complain. Sam's in her own room now, and doing well w/that...and I only peek in on her once (or twice) a night, so I'm doing okay w/it, too.
One of her favorite things is typing on the computer, and she's pestering me to type right now, so here she goes: nvnbvhbvhbhbvbbvhbhbhbvbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbccvvcvcv cvgvvgvgvgvfg fgfyttdf
Enjoy the new pics in the gallery;
Merry Christmas to everyone, and thank you, as always, for keeping Sam in your thoughts.
Jessica
PS in a few days it will be exactly 3 years since Sam was handed to me!

Have a MERRY Christmas, Sammy!!
Isn't she gorgeous in that red dress? What a heartwarming report for this time of year. Tears of joy for sure.

She's such a doll! Love the pictures of her in her beautiful Christmas dress. Thanks for posting this heartwarming update. Merry Christmas, Sam! (keeping her in my prayers!)
Just wanted to add a short note: Sam totally snubbed Jonah the other night! Jonah said he wanted to call and talk to Sam. So, I called and gave him the phone. Sam wanted nothing to do with him....he he he my poor boy was crying and crying, "I just want to talk to Sammy...." TEARS! Was Sam having any of it? Nope. She already knows how to make the boys cry.
Sam - what a cute Santa girl you are
And- it is NOT nice not to be nice with your cousin Jonah
Samantha, how beautiful you look in your red dress! Great job typing on the keyboard! I have leaky eyes thinking about you with all the other children in your Christmas program. You go, Sam! Merry Christmas to you!

It's been before Christmas since there has been an UppieDate on Sammy's Care Pages ...
Has Sammy learned how to TYPE, yet?
Hope she's Well and continuing to make Progress.
Hmmm...some Samantha news. She turned 5 on March 1, and Jonah helped celebrate her day. I will try to upload some photos of that happy event. Lillycat has pulled out some old school material to work with Sam on getting her kindergarten ready. I *think* she will go to Kindergarten this coming school year.
I do know that on April 6 Sam travels to Shriner's in Lexington to get fitted for her first set of bendable legs! This is pretty exciting. She and mommy will spend a week learning the ins and outs of this new phase. I understand from my sister that these legs will be more comfortable and easier to use. Her current set of legs don't have a knee joint. They are like stilts, really.
So, this Spring will be very busy for Sam.
