that's great he's doing better. i wish all owners that have problem dogs would try to work on the problems like you did instead of just "getting rid of the dog".
cheap flexi leads are a bad investment. i advise you to spend the money on a Flexi brand lead if you want a retractable. they are the best there is. you'd probably want something that can hold over 75-100lbs. depending on how much Buddy weighs and how strong he is. Flexies are expensive, but definatly worth the money.
as for the running off part he may stop that after a while if you work with him enough. be sure to teach him to "come". that word may save his life someday.
Owned by two little pastries!
REST IN PEACE GRACIE. NOT A DAY GOES BY THAT I DON'T MISS YOU.
have you considered a prong collar for him? It's helped my 2(and my arms) alot, and they hardly ever pull anymore. It should ONLY be used for walking.
Prong Collar
I'm glad he's getting better though!![]()
But you are more than making up for it now which is what mattersI feel guilty not giving him any attention earlier in his life![]()

That is what i had for my RB Bandit i walked him once on it and he was cured !!! I reccomend that just because how well it worked,I would of said that before but didnt know how people reacted to the Prong Collar, they arnt expensive i think i paid twelve dollars,Bandit used to walk on his hein legs!He was a bad walker till i got that then i walked all 4 dogs together which saved me having to take 3 trips!!Good Luck Buddy!Originally Posted by sammy101
