I have a paypal account already set up, so I could accept the donations, you can trust me 100 per cent, but i dont really know how paypal works really, how do i then get the money to Alice, does she need to set up an account as well, please help,not very up on these things, just hold off on anything for now , as you can only cash bank cheques in NZ, and they probably cost money to get in the first place, do i have to post my email address for the paypal account? help much appreciated , thank you.

I think i understand that I can send the donations through her email address, but how does she get the cash in hand, or does she have to use paypal to pay the vet?

Oh Carole...I would love to help. By bank cheque, do you mean a personal bank check or a money order? I was wondering too, what the exchange rate is and how much you might have to pay to have the money changed over into your currency? Let me know the best way! Oh, you are a dear, and caring soul and my heart goes out to Alice, precious little Mykie and to you What special little kitty he is.

Carole, with the PayPal acct...you need to set up the type that allows you to receive as well as send money...ugh, can't think of the name of that right now but it's clear on the PayPal site. The money is deposited into your bank acct. You get notified when funds have been sent to you. You would then withdraw the money to give to Alice, the vet...I think that's correct and that might work best...let us know!

Sandra i think i can do that on my account but i am not sure really, it is all a bit complicated for me, i am sure it is basic really, and once i know how to do it will be easy peasy.

You cannot send a personal cheque, i thought money orders were ok, but when Lisa went to do that they said no, she sent me a cashiers cheque from her bank, i donot know if it cost her extra, probably did, i had no problem putting it in my account, it takes around a month to clear is all, but that is ok, i can send the funds on to Alice anyhow, and you all know that will be done pronto, rest assured or you can send it to Alice, as i have her address, whatever everyone is comfortable with doing is fine by me,you could pm lisa Kuhio98 and ask her the details, she is in Alaska, so not sure if everything is the same or not. I know with the cashiers cheque you can track it as well, so that is good incase the postal system lets us down.

Sandra i checked on a money convertor keeping in mind these are not that accurate but today ten american dollars was worth around 14.50 NZ so that is pretty good really, remember every little bit helps towards that 1500 dollar bill and towards Mykie's recovery, hope this all helps and thank you so much for your kind offers of help.

On a more positive note my friend Daves dog Star was undergoing chemo for cancer and she is in remission and doing extremely well, this is indeed inspiring news to hear..and proves having chemo is NOT a lost cause.
